SERVICES
Alpha House is pleased to provide the following range of services for our clients:
SHELTER
The shelter is a safe, supportive environment for individuals affected by their use of alcohol or other drugs. People can come to the shelter for a rest or a reprieve from the street or their home, to shower or laundry, or as an opportunity to speak with an addiction support worker. We offer a limited food program. The shelter is operated on a 24-hour basis for men and women who are under the influence of alcohol and other drugs. Usually a mat is offered for sleep and the stay is overnight.
DETOXIFICATION
Detoxification and withdrawal management is generally five to seven days, accomodating both men and women. Clients are monitored in a non-medical environment. Methadone Program clients are supported as directed by their clinics. Clients are provided with information regarding alcohol abuse and other drug withdrawal. Clients are given referral counseling and information on relapse prevention through group presentations and our Addiction Support Workers.
